British Virgin Islands (BVI) — Sunday December 31, 2023 is the last day of the old year and Monday January 1st, 2024 is the first day of the New Year. Some Virgin Islanders stay home, others go out, and many will celebrate at house parties; on yachts and at local restaurants and clubs throughout the territory. Some energetic partiers will ‘party-hop’ from venue to venue. Visitors from all over the world will travel by air, sail and motor to celebrate the New Year in the beautiful Virgin Islands. What will you do?
Staying Home in the BVI
Asked what they would be doing for the New Year in the Virgin Islands many people said they were staying home. Most would be relaxing with family together. Some of the folks staying home on New Year’s Eve host house parties.
Other people in the Virgin Islands are eager for their alone time and create a home spa experience for themselves with hot bath, scented candles, music, and favored beverage.
Others spoke about self-review and evaluation; goals and resolutions and the need to update files and planning books.
One Virgin Islander said, “Rest, fast, fast.”

Being Grounded
Growing food and medicine in the British Virgin Islands is priority. There are many farmers and other people tending ground in the Virgin Islands. They will be in their ground early most every day including New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day making sure each young plant gets a cool sip of water.

Going Out in Nature Old Year 2023 New Year 2024 in the BVI
Quite a few people in the Virgin Islands say they will wake early on the last day of the year to take a sunrise walk in nature. Some say they will walk the beach nearest them and included (Smuggler’s Cove; Long Bay West; Little Apple Bay; Cane Garden Bay; Brewer’s Bay; Josiah’s Bay; Long Bay East..all most beautiful beaches!).
Other people are embarking on new adventures, taking paths they have never before gone on to undisclosed places.
Still others had their focus set on the peak of Sage Mountain.

Going Out to Old Year 2023 and New Year 2024 Parties in the BVI
No matter which island you are on in the Virgin Islands there are big fun parties accessible to you either by foot, motor, or sail. The most ambitious party goers visit several parties and some sail or motor joyously from island to island.
For the most safe and fun experience it is recommended to choose one Bay and anchor or park up and do your celebrating on foot! Otherwise make sure you have a non-drinking designated captain or driver.
