HLSCC VIRGIN ISLANDS STUDIES INSTITUTE The Virgin Islands Studies Institute presents a short course in African Inspirations, Diaspora Creations: Arts and Architectures. This course examines the rich heritage of African arts and architecture as they shape and have been shaped by the histories and cultural values (social, political, religious, philosophical, and aesthetic) of African peoples, both past and present, on the African continent where humanity- and ART- began. Selected artistic traditions will be highlighted representing different parts of the continent from 26,000 BCE to contemporary expressions facilitated by visiting professor Dr. Henry J. Drewall
